The Paloma Candle Bowl

Designed within our studio in Sydney, Australia, each piece is man-made in small batches through a slow and thoughtful process. Every item is unique in its own form, texture and finish. This means no two pieces are identical, being uniquely designed for you and your space.

Set Wax Memory: Burn the candle to the edge during the first use to ensure an even burn and prevent tunneling. This helps maximize the candle's burn time and ensures optimal performance in future uses.

Avoid Prolonged Burning: Do not burn the candle for more than 2 hours at a time or until it reaches the base. Prolonged burning can cause wick issues and uneven burning. Extinguish, cool, and trim the wick before relighting.

Never Leave Unattended: Always keep a burning candle in sight and avoid moving it while lit. Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep, and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable objects.

Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (5mm) to maintain a steady flame and reduce smoking. Soot stains may occur; while the nature of jesmonite may prevent the vessel from returning to its original and pristine state.

Keep Away from Pets and Children: Place candles in areas out of reach of pets and children to prevent accidents.

Each piece will have bubbles on the surface and at the base. There may also be variations in colour and textures, which are not considered a fault and all part of the natural man-made process of Jesmonite. 

The medium we use is made up of two parts, a reactive mineral base and a pure water based resin that is combined together to create a mixture that is then poured into our moulds. During this process, air bubbles will naturally float to the top of the mould resulting in the final texture and finish of our pieces.
