Jesmonite:

• Our pieces are principally designed for decor purposes only. If necessary wash your piece under warm water and wipe down with a dry cloth immediately.
• To keep your piece in its best form, avoid any contact with direct heat such as an oven, microwave or dishwasher.
• Our pieces are durable, although should be treated and handled with gentle care as you would with any glass or ceramic pieces.

Candles:

• Trim the Wick: Keep the wick trimmed to about 1/4 inch before each burn. This prevents the flame from becoming too large, which can cause uneven burning and excessive flickering.
• Use a Candle Plate or Tray: Always place the pillar candle on a non-flammable, heat-resistant candle plate or tray to catch any dripping wax and protect surfaces from heat and melted wax.
• Monitor Wax Pool: As the pillar candle burns, wax will start to pool at the base. Keep an eye on this and remove excess melted wax if it begins to overflow or looks like it may spill over.
• Rotate the Candle: To ensure even burning, occasionally rotate the candle. This is especially helpful if you notice the candle burning unevenly.
• Avoid Drafts: Since these candles aren’t enclosed, keeping them out of drafts is crucial to avoid uneven burning and dripping wax. Drafts can cause the flame to lean, leading to one side melting faster than the other.

Each piece will have bubbles on the surface and at the base. There may also be variations in colour and textures, which are not considered a fault and all part of the natural man-made process of Jesmonite. 

The medium we use is made up of two parts, a reactive mineral base and a pure water based resin that is combined together to create a mixture that is then poured into our moulds. During this process, air bubbles will naturally float to the top of the mould resulting in the final texture and finish of our pieces.

We try to edit our photos to show the samples as life-like as possible, but please understand that the actual colour may vary slightly from your screen.
