Set Wax Memory: Burn the candle to the edge during the first use to ensure an even burn and prevent tunneling. This helps maximize the candle's burn time and ensures optimal performance in future uses.
Avoid Prolonged Burning: Do not burn the candle for more than 2 hours at a time or until it reaches the base. Prolonged burning can cause wick issues, excessive soot and uneven burning. Extinguish, cool, and trim the wick before relighting.
Never Leave Unattended: Always keep a burning candle in sight and avoid moving it while lit. Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep, and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable objects.
Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (5mm) to maintain a steady flame and reduce smoking. Soot stains may occur; we recommend to use a soft wet wipe after candle has cooled down to remove any soot build up. While the nature of jesmonite may prevent the vessel from returning to its original, pristine state, these thoughtful cleaning steps will help maintain its beauty and ensure it remains in a reusable condition.
